Hi, it's the Joneses! Thanks for your interest in "Our Commercial Break". After many years of enjoying the High Country, we decided we wanted our own little escape. This sweet spot on Sugar Mountain is just what we needed. It's only a few hours drive from our home near Raleigh, N.C. and the car seems like it's on auto-pilot these days. We call it "Our Commercial Break" because, outside our vacation life, we're TV news people. We like to work hard, but play harder and this is where we get away from the media grind. We've spent many wonderful weekends here with friends and family. "Our Commercial Break" has played host to whitewater rafting birthday parties, family easter egg hunts, antique hunting trips, wine and food getaways or even just book/movie weekends. Our family always fits in fly fishing and at least one good long hike. From our son's 3 year old friends to his grandparents, return trips are always a request. We can't get enough of the fresh mountain air. Whether it's foggy, rainy, windy, snowing or just crisp and sunny, the mountain is always rejuvenating.
